March 25-26, 2025 in Paris – MuseIT and PERCEIVE, two European projects, will present their innovations in interactive technologies for the cultural sector at SITEM (International Museum, Tourism and Culture Exhibition) which will be held at the Carousel du Louvre in Paris.
ABOUT MuseIT – STAND IM10
Represented by Actronika company and the Michael Culture Association, the MuseIT project (Multisensory User-Centered Shared Cultural Experiences through Interactive Technologies) offers visitors the opportunity to discover and test an immersive and multisensory virtual exhibition using virtual reality and the Skinetic haptic vest.
What if a blind person could hear or touch a painting? Or if a person with reduced mobility could create music with their emotions, without movement, and collaborate with musicians kilometers away? MuseIT uses Artificial Intelligence and language models to generate a range of multisensory experiences related to artistic creation and cultural heritage. Thus, MuseIT offers innovative paths to engage with culture and make it accessible to a wide audience.
Launched in 2022, MuseIT is a project dedicated to better integration and inclusion in the cultural sector through the development of technological tools. The project is coordinated by the University of BorÃ¥s (Sweden) and nine partners from 9 European Union member states and 2 associated partners: Stanford University and King’s College London.
ABOUT PERCEIVE – STAND IM7
The PERCEIVE consortium (Perceptive Enhanced Realities of Colored collections Through AI and Virtual Experiences) will present some of the project’s first results. Participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the early color photography process with autochromes, discover the diagnostic processes behind lost polychromy studies, go beyond the visual experience by translating color variations of Edvard Munch’s “The Scream” into sound and light, and experience new collaborative ways of generating ideas for museum application development.
Launched in 2023, PERCEIVE is an innovative project dedicated to preserving and transmitting colors in cultural heritage through the development of technological tools and artificial intelligence. PERCEIVE aims to preserve colors according to five different scenarios, ranging from the lost polychromy of ancient sculptures, to digital artwork, to color changes in paintings, textiles, and autochromes. By combining artificial intelligence (AI), image processing, and virtual experiences, PERCEIVE seeks to promote the principles of care, authenticity, and accessibility toward European cultural heritage.
The project brings together 11 institutions from 8 different countries where experts in technology, conservation, and the cultural sector gather to meet the objectives of preserving and transmitting colored cultural heritage—a crucial but often neglected aspect of historical artifacts.
